If your book turns out to be a title you have already read, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will compound a replacement once you mail in your book.

We are unable to accept returns once the book has been unwrapped. Unopened parcels may be returned within 7 days of delivery for a full refund. We always recommend contacting the apothecary first as most concerns can be resolved without a return.

Each book is compounded for a broad disposition rather than a precise specification because the ambiguity is intentional. If you would like to add a brief consultation note (e.g., 'no horror' or 'under 300 pages'), you may leave it in the order notes field at check out. We read every note.

Subscribers can pause, skip a month, or cancel at any time from their account page with no minimum term and no penalty. Changes must be made before the 20th of the month to take effect for the following dispatch. If you need help, write to the apothecary directly.

Most parcels are dispatched within 5 business days of your order being confirmed. Standard delivery typically arrives within 5 to 10 business days depending on your location. You will receive a dispatch notification by email once your parcel is on its way.

Absolutely. Every order can be sent directly to a recipient's address with a hand-written gift note of your choosing. Simply enter the recipient's details at checkout and add your message in the gift note field. The book will arrive sealed and unidentified, just as it should be.
